Emma Persand is to deliver a workshop: ‘Using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) strategies for managing menopausal symptoms’ at Flushfest 2019 -. A Menopause Festival showcasing presentations on health education, best practise and employment law with creative workshops and panel discussions.

This workshop is open to all and introduces the research of Professor Hunter and Dr Smith on using the practical strategies of CBT to manage stress, hot flushes, night sweats and sleep. Cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) for menopausal symptoms is an evidenced-based and non-medical intervention – appropriate for women who are experiencing symptoms (whether medicating or not) due to natural pre and post menopause, surgery or treatment that induces or emphasises the symptoms, for whom HRT is not appropriate and women diagnosed premature menopause (those under 40 years of age).
